April: Competition Topic “Abstract”
Qualified entries are non-representational. They may cover any subject matter; any technique
or techniques may be used in their creation. The main emphasis is on pattern, texture, tone,
form, color, etc. However, abstracts may contain identifiable subject matter as a minor
element. An abstract image may be “found”, like a certain paving pattern, or “created,”
like smoke wisps or light painting.
