Pictures of America

To all the members of your camera club

Hello

We are looking to invite the members of your camera club to send us a landscape photograph each of their choice that shows the best of your region. We are compiling a photographic inspiration collection called Pictures of America which will be available free from our website. In return, we are inviting camera clubs in the UK to do the same. We want to present the countries from the local points of view. We have all seen the generic poster pictures but these provide little personal inspiration. The collections will be connections between individual photographers showing the best of their worlds as seen through their own lens.

Focal View

We exist to provide inspiration and a wider audience for amateur photographers. We all take photographs but have little opportunity to show and share the ideas with  others beyond their local club, friends and family. We provide that opportunity. Photographers can showcase their work through bespoke portfolios, enter our free international competition which is judged anonymously by our Open Panel as well as professional judges who always provide constructive feedback and even develop their photography skills through our Perspectives on Photography library.

Most of our work is completely free and where we do charge for portfolios and our Perspectives, we only cover the running costs. We feel that creative photography should reach everybody.  Pictures of America and Pictures of Great Britain will be a good opportunity to see and share the individual views of the world.

Please simply ask your members to send their images – 7 x 4 at 300 dpi or thereabouts with their name and club in the file title to editor@focalview.co.uk

Each entrant  can have the Perspectives title of their choice as a thank you for helping to create what we feel will become a great photographic collection of individual views of their world. Just ask members to tell us which Perspectives number and we will send them the link.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to meeting your members and sharing their work with other photographers around the world.

Best wishes

Adrian and Brian
