A native of El Salvador, photographer Muriel Hasbun has worked and taught in Washington, DC for over 25 years; serving as Head of Photography at the Corcoran School of Arts and Design at GWU. Her photographs and installations probe her own family history in search of identity, as they carefully consider the overlap of past and present. Leslie Ureña is Assistant Curator of photographs at the National Portrait Gallery. Her work on Lewis Hine’s Ellis Island photographs grapples with issues of immigration and identity.  Ureña has worked at the National Gallery of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the gallery TKG+ in Taipei, Taiwan.
